Meet Peter Gander
FishPrint's new and exclusive t-shirt designs are the product of Whitstable-based artist and cartoonist Peter Gander, who neatly combines his passion for angling with his artistic skills.
London-born Peter did a year's Foundation course at Barnet College, Herts, then acquired a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Graphic Design from Canterbury College of Art in Kent and has been a professional commercial artist in London ever since.
As a graphic designer, an early career 'claim to fame' found Peter redesigning the original Monopoly box to feature the famous character 'Mr Pennybags' in the middle of the 'O' who remains there to this day.
Always keen on humour, Peter had some illustrated poems featured on
London's buses during 1996 for 'Friends of the Earth' and in 2004 he won
Transport for London/The London Comedy Festival's 'Mind the Gag'
award
with his cartoon, 'Busy tube?', which consequently featured in The Evening
Standard and on London Underground posters.

Alongside his FishPrints work (and when he's not fishing), Peter produces
original watercolour and acrylic paintings and limited edition prints, many
of them along fishy themes. You can view a selection of these in the flesh at
Whitstable's Horsebridge Art Gallery 2 or at The Fish Slab Gallery in
July 2008, or to view or purchase online, see:
